As the story goes... After Winger had ended, Rod went back to playing in the Dixie Dreggs (with whom he had recorded several albums with prior to Winger), and during one gig in 1994, there was an electrical fault which cut off the power supply to everything except the keyboards. While the problem was trying to be resolved, Jordan Rudess (the keyboard player) and Rod started jamming together to keep the audience entertained. The result was an unexpected huge success, and inspired the two musicians to form the Rudess Morgenstein Project and record a full instrumental album of just drums and synthesisers. Jordan is an expert keyboard player who has been playing since he was very young, improving rapidly. For this project, he uses many different sounds throughout, using the limits of a synthesizer's capabilities. He has his own webpage on the net which you can view at : http://www.bway.net/~jordan/ . Rod also has his own website showing his career history and his complicated drum set! His site is at http://home.earthlink.net/~rmorgenstein/ . The "Rudess Morgenstein Project" was released in late 1997 on Domo Records.

Rudess Morgenstein Project (1997)
A very impressive instrumental project that manages to produce so many different sounds from just drums and synthesisers. Both musicians are technically amazing a nd it's quite outstanding what just two guys can produce.
