Hi, this page gives info and links on a variety of kick-ass rock bands, mainly focusing on smallish American bands (i.e. NOT Bon Jovi or Nirvana). So if you like good-time hard rock music this is the place to come! You will find reviews and ratings on most of the bands and their albums as well as images and track details.

• Winger
  A big hit in the late 80s/early 90s in the States, only to get their third and last album almost completely ignored, despite being an musical masterpiece.
  • Kip Winger
    The Winger frontman goes solo, and much softer too, but his music is still quite impressive.
  • Rudess Morgenstein
    Rod Morgenstein (Winger's drummer) teams up with keyboardist extravaganza Jordan Rudess to produce a very original instrumental record.

• Shark Island
  The hottest rock band in L.A. in the 80s.

• Tora Tora
  One of the best melodic hard rock bands of the late 80s/early 90s. Now back as "Homemade Flavor".

• Slaughter
  Rock'n'roll!!!! Struggling on, now without their guitarist, they release a full live album.

• Neverland
  After a stunning debut in '91, the band finally released a second album in '96 but with a new vocalist and drummer.
  • Tribe of Gypsies
    After "Neverland", Dean Ortega (the vocalist) went on to sing in this band, recording two stunning records, only to leave to record with....
  • Revolution Child
    Dean's on going band since the early nineties, finally record their debut which is modern sounding and kicks ass!

• Love/Hate
  Having released their 5th and final album, the band are no more, but it's still worth checking out their highly original hard hitting rock.

• Xenon
  Wahey!! Another Xenon release at last.....not an album, but 3 songs is better than nothing, MUCH better than nothing as "Defying Gravity" goes beyond "Simple" into the new millenium with new outstanding AOR songs which should be the way of the future....,if only.

Some great rockin' bands from non-English speaking territory, although these bands sing in the one and only great language.

• GOTTHARD
  Just when you thought good old rock'n'roll had disappeared, in comes the best kick-ass band in the 90s. These Swiss dudes show us how it should have been done. CHECK 'EM OUT!! New album "Open" just come out in February, mouch more mellow and acoustic - is this rock'n'roll?

• Electric Boys
  These metal funksters from Sweden hit a brick wall after a few years, but Conny went on to form "Titanic Truth" and has now gone solo.

These are some of the a British bands who I listen to that you American lads won't know about. They are all fairly popular in Britain.

• TeRRORViSiON
  These rockers from Bradford have an originality in their music that is not found elsewhere. First two albums were brilliant but they may be beginning to slip....

• Levellers
  Country maybe? Not quite. Different, not heavy, but a favourite.

• Thunder
  A good pop/rock band who come up with great tunes.

• Velocity
  An 80s band in the 90s.... anyone want good old 80s r'n'r to come back? Check out Velocity, as this is exactly what they are about, and they're damn good at it too!

• Poker Face
  A melodic rock band that I've just come across and who deserve a mention. Two albums, "Game of Love" and "NEXT!" which show the songwriting capabilities of frontman Paul Topete and the superb musical talent of this band.

• Sven Gali
  Two great albums - one classic Skid Row style 80s rock, the second modern, a bit grungey, but highly melodic and well written songs.

• $kyHigh
  Standard 80s style rock, comparable to Warrant. Good stuff, and superb guitarist.

• Z Plan
  An American melodic rock band who have just hit the '99 rock market with their impressive debut "Circus".

• Zen
  An amazing progressive melodic rock band from Canada whose album I bought completely by accident but love to death, and never have I found ANY record of ANYTHING about this band, not even a listed of the album I have. But it is incredible!
