Welcome to my ‘plot’…my
name is Marjorie but I am known to my family as Margie and then again to friends
as Maggie. I prefer the latter because having a name like Marjorie means there
are too many variations, and so I settle for this. We have lived in Lincolnshire
for the past nine years and I would not choose to live anywhere else now.
Our town was an important part of the rural community as far back as Edwardian
times, when, the then new, railway station was used for the distribution of
local produce (mainly vegetables) to all parts of the British Isles. There
were many houses built during this time and though ours is a ‘new house’
it was built to an Edwardian design. Our High Street still retains its Edwardian
character and is a delightful market town typical of the area.
