Game 2.

Up against Behind The Lines team in the form of Richard. I can't recall the name of the army but it was vaguely Napoleonic with some Brunswicks (they looked like Avante Guard any way). It was a Hero General, Hero, 2 Riders, Knight, Airboat, Lurker and 3 Shooters. Richard defended and deployed his Shooters and general to one flank and the mounted, other hero and airboat to the other. I placed the Hordes on the road just far enough so the Richard would have to come out of the marsh to take them on and my Flyer and Paladin on the left with the Shooters in the rough. The Artillery covered the centre. I came a cropper in the very first turn as Richard deployed the lurker which I had forgotten about and killed a Shooter !! I managed to get rid of the Lurker eventually. Richard now advanced all along the line and I swung out my left. In a daring move Richard went for it and crashed into my Paladin with his Hero and double overlaps. It all suddenly went bad for the Angel of Mons who couldn't stand the heat and was destroyed. The loss of the Paladin was grievous and with a Shooter down I was in not looking good.

I picked off a Rider with My Shooters but the other Rider and Knight refused to come near them...yet. By this time Richard had advanced his Shooters and Hero General into the rough to take on the Hordes, so I sent the Flyer into the back of his Hero General and pushed up a Horde into contact. The factors were in Richard's favour but the Hero was in the Rough and the Horde was not. I won the combat and Richard's general was no more; a quick check on AP lost showed it was even losses but I could bring back a Horde.

Next go Richard only rolled a 3 and needed to get my Artillery general but couldn't. Instead he went to get kills to increase my losses and sent his Hero Rider the rough. He won with the Hero and destroyed a Shooter. Richard was now 2AP ahead. In my go I got good pips and was able to advance the Horde line and get the Flyer on their rear, and I brought back the Horde. I won the combats and destroyed 1 Shooter giving me the game 40-8.
