Roud 1 gets under way

My Romans line up against Declan's Gauls in the Sun

Richard atcually placed that terrain and then made Chris Cale play it. For shame !! Needless to say the game was a draw.

The Pool Army table, it's a tad empty as many armies were in use.

Gregory's French sophistication could prevent Richard's Santa Clause army from winning. Meanwhile Seb is fooled by the pretty ballons into thinking he can win with my Napoleonic army.

Teddy Bears take on Gulliver and Lilliput in the Picnic Garden. It is a real running water feature lovingly created by Iam...Actually by Jenny (Ian's patient partner), Ian just knocked the box together, Jenny spent the much of the previous week flocking and arrangeing the layout.

Ian Speed on the left vs Pete Duckworth on the right, the eventual winner and second place players respectively. In the background Malcolm Hiseman plays Alan Saunders

Imperial Rome line up against Aragorn, Gandalf and the gong from Middle Earth. Moments later Gandalf gave Constantine a good kicking. Game over in about 2 bounds.

Alan Saunders tries to persuade young Owein that he isn't really corner sitting.

Ian Notter's Bison Riders. A lovely army and the God was very nice.

Seb's Mountain was a strong contender for Best Terrain but lost to the appealing serenity of the runnign water in the Picnic Garden. Here the Crimson Bat helps Seb to a victory.

Ken suddenly realises there is no hope.

Tony Horobin tries to intimidate Richard but he laughs off the attempt.
