eRules World War II applies the Wargames Research GroupWargames Rules 1925 to 1950 at incredible speed.  These rules have set the standard in terms of historical accuracy and realistic detail for battles up to battalion strength. .Now eRules World War II takes this into a new dimension by acting as an automated game umpire.

eRules carries out all the following tasks, some of which are just left out of many sets of rules, and which would otherwise take up hours of valuable playing time:

Keeps track of the correct sequence of play;

Changes the game time, move number, weather, light, visibility, ground conditions;

Shows which side is currently to move;

Throws dice and evaluates morale tests, target acquisition tests and the results of firing;

Deals with multiple aircraft weapons in one go;

Saves you the trouble of looking up tables;

Keeps records of ammunition usage;

Keeps records of registered and programmed targets;

Automatically detects and initiates programmed artillery fire and air support;

Automatically detects and initiates counter-battery tasks.

eRules enables you to play detailed and realistic combined-arms (air, infantry, armour) tactical wargames much faster than would be possible with all but the simplest rule book. For example, eRules would take 1 - 5 minutes to resolve all moves and exchanges of fire, and update the current state of the light, weather, etc., for a game involving as many as 140 'elements' (infantry bases, guns, aircraft and vehicles). Applying an equally detailed rule book would be likely to take up at least an hour's play .

What you do with the time saved is up to you. You can either spend more time thinking, or, more realistically, just make more moves.

 eRules' advantage over printed rules increases as the size of your forces and the variety of their weapons increase. There are simpler sets of rules, but if you are looking for realistic results with big armies sometime today, you need eRules.
