Reproduction of Anglian Dress

The Female costume consists of an undertunic made of linen or wool. If the wearer was wealthy there may be a linen underdress and a woollen underdress. Over this is worn a tube dress , this is pinned at the top edge by brooches or may have been sewn instead in instances where no brooches have been found. There are several ways to pin the tube dress, some of which are shown on the instruction page.

The Male costume consists of trousers, gathered at the lower edge by means of puttees. The male wears a linen undertunic and a woolen overtunic.

The edges of garments are have tablet woven borders.
