inland waterway scene of the 1950’s. Mike has written a fascinating account of
his waterway life in those times, woven with colourful characters and hilarious
stories. It is a unique book that appeals not just to the boating world but also to all who enjoy a bit of
history and a laugh.

the busy river Trent from Nottingham to Hull Docks as mate aboard a British
Waterways Towing Barge.
