My Work
Mostly inspired by the countryside of Cornwall and the South West
of England the main subjects of my work are landscapes and seascapes,
clouds and skies. from the tors of the high moorland, the hills
and trees, to the cliffs and beaches of the coast there is much
to draw and paint. Many of my pictures may include all of these
as a single scene, from the close-up foreground to the distant
horizon. I have discovered many images in the archeology of the
area. The houses and cottages of our ancestors, the hill forts
and standing stones of the ancient monuments.
I am fascinated by the planetry events of the worlds above us.
The Sun, the Moon, Mars and the comets.

I
am a mixed media artist. As well as working with traditonal pastels,
acrylics and gouache,I rely heavily on many natural materials
like leaves, lichens, minerals, glass and leaf metals to build
up a collage of textures and colour to give depth to each piece.
My printmaking takes in etching, aquatint. collographs, lino cut
and blockprinting.
As well as producing my own works I also design greeting cards
and christmas cards, and am also involved with book illustration. Please contact me for details
of commissioned work.
Many
of the pieces on these pages may be in galleries or exhibitions

NEWS
September 2005
In
response to requests I have introduced a new collection of greeting
cards which will be available from early September. The first
four designs depict various views of North Cornwall based on my
favourite local journeys to Tintagel, Boscastle, Strangles etc.
I am also working on more studies of the county including North
of Bude which I believe to be dramatic and very beautiful.
Much
of my work, including cards, can be viewed at the Boscastle Gallery
where I am currently available to talk about my pictures two or
three days a week.
The gallery has now been completely refurbished after last years
disastous flood and has on show many artists works.
