Wolsingham Exit car park and turn right into Market Place, turn right up main A689 road for 200 yds. and turn left into road signposted Hamsterlev .Cross over river and turn right up road to farm entrance on right Go up farm road to Ashes House Farm with farm on right, pass farm and continue to Towdv Pots Farm go through farm yard and continue on track for 300yds to gate in field, go through gate and immediately turn left and continue ahead for 1/2 mile. After passing wood on right exit on broad track. Turn right and follow track for I mile on top of escarpment to clump of trees on right known locally as the Elephant Trees. Continue for 200yds.and turn right, down hill at finger post Weardale Way. Pass large barn Allotment House on left and continue down hill on tarmac mad where road levels off, Pve Close, turn Left with wall on Left and enter small wood. At end of track go through gate and straight across field towards gully Follow track round to left to wood Allotment Plantation, go through gate and cross over stream Bear right and follow track for l mile round on same contour ,with Bollihope burn off to right. towards Whitfield Brow and to road Turn right and cross over road bridge at Bollihope Burn. Immediately turn left upstream 100yds. and then turn right and follow track, initially marked with posts then follow unmarked track ( compass bearing) for 1 mile over Catterick Moss towards Ridding Farm. After crossing moor turn left with wall on right for 200yds. and then go through gate on right (with barbed wire on top) at wall junction. Follow wall which is on left down towards end of quarry continue ahead on track to Ridding Farm. Go through farm yard and immediately turn left along track for 200yds. and then bear right to fence above quarry (Please be Carefull) Continue along side offence and cross over gully and climb over fence and turn right and follow fence which is now on right downhill for 400yds. to lane Turn Left along lane towards Parson Bvers Farm. Turn right downhill on lane between farm houses and take stile in wall on left at finger post and continue through field to unnamed farm and continue through fields to Bushy Flatt Farm. Continue ahead on farm track into forrest for 300yds where turn right for 10 yds through trees to stile and cross into field Continue ahead through fields and stiles to railway linc. Cross over line and pass pavilion on left and exit field at white kissing gate. Turn right along road and then take footbridge over river. Turn left along riverside road for 200yds. then turn right up road to main road A689. Cross with care and continue ahead up road B6278 for 400yds. to mine access road on left Follow mine road for 1 mile to mine and then turn right up track for 400yds. Leave track and cross stream and gully on right and follow wall which is on your right for 1 mile to road B6278. Cross over road and follow wall round to right with farm on right to metal gate near road 86278. Now turn left away from gate and follow track above quany workings ( Crawleyside Edge 1 for 1 1/2 miles . 200yds after second 'N" junction, turn right following wall which is on your right to path which goes between houses. Continue downhill on road for 200yds. and then take stile on left into field. Ahead through 3 fields to white stile, after crossing stile bear left across field to another white stile, cross and follow path down to stream. Cross over bridge, turn right up steps and follow path for 2oyds then turn left to stile into field. Cross and bear right across field to gap in fence.Bear left to stile in wall to left of deserted farm house Ravenfleld. Bear left uphill to meet landrover track Continue uphill and turn right initially then bear left on faint land rover track along contour with views down the valley (if clear ) for 3/4 mile to gate in wall, bear left to stile in fence~ cross and bear right to mined Pitt Rouse Farm. Pass in front of farm with fence on right to stile in wall. Cross over and turn right downhill with wall on right. Bear left away from wall for 200yds . to stile in wall ahead. Cross over and bear left downhill to left of Frosterlev Cottage Farm Turn left along farm road to meet road going uphill to radio mast. Turn right down hill for 200yds to gate on left Turn left through gate then follow wall on right along edge of wood for 200yds. Turn light over stile in corner of field and go down path in wood for 250 yds and take stile on right as you leave wood Continue ahead for 20 yds then turn left over stile down bill to houses Frosterlerv Village. Follow road at rear of houses round to left then right and extt on main road A689 Turn left along main road for 300yds out of village and then cross over main road with care to bridge over river near haulage depot on right Cross over bridge and immediately turn left through small gate into field . Follow field footpath for 1/2 mile and then along riverside through caravan park turn right up road passed caravan site office and then left along access road for 1/2 mile . When access road turns left over river bridge continue ahead on footpath through fields. As you approach Wolsingliam bear right towards railway line Continue along footpath next to line and exit at road bridc_e with care . Turn left down road and left over river bridge into Wolsingham. Retrace route back to car park.
