About GlasgowGlasgow is Scotlands biggest City and sits on both sides of the river Clyde and is situated in west central Scotland. Its people are friendly and there are many buildings from the nineteenth century or before, the name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means The Dear Green Place. Glasgow Cathedral was built in the 12th and 13th centuries but a religous site has been there since about 500AD when St Kentigern named St. Mungo founded a Church on the site. People soon followed and below the Church next to the Molendinar burn (a stream), they built a settlement. Infact there is still a well in Ladywell Street just down from the Necropolis, all these places are in the area called Townhead. Below are some Links for Glasgow with many more Links and information within them. Glasgow City Council has a Webcam on George Square. Glasgow City Council
