THE POTTERY
Coxwold Pottery was established in 1965 by Peter and Jill Dick.  Over the years they have produced a wide range of pottery.  Numerous visitors to this lovely corner of North Yorkshire have become regular customers.
The inspiration for Coxwold pots comes from the work of country potters over the centuries and many of the techniques employed are the same as those used by the old craftsmen.
Thrown on the potters' wheel each pot has a unique character.  Free flowing decoration with liquid clay slip enhances the forms; sometimes this may be simply a brush swirl while on other pots a complex mixture of slip trailing and brush strokes builds up rich patterns.
 

OPENING TIMES
We aim to open 2 - 5.30 pm Tuesday to Friday all year, plus some summer weekends. Please phone before making a special journey as we can't guarantee these times due to our very small staff.

THE POTS

EARTHENWARE in bright cream, green and blue is fired in the electric kiln.

 
 

STONEWARE will soon be under production.  It will be fired in our newly rebuilt wood-fired kiln, which gives exceptionally rich and exciting glaze and body quality.
