GLOBALISATION

John Pilger's programme, broadcast on British television in July,"The New Rulers of the World", was a real eye-opener. Pilger explained how the IMF and World Trade Organisation were constructing a monstrous global sweatshop of cheap labour run by global corporations.

While Western Europe and the U.S. become deindustrialised, countries like Indonesia are worked to death. Sensible it isn't!

Pilger's programme was one of the few thought-provoking programmes shown on TV, amid a desert of gameshows and soaps, all of which act like a drug - maybe to stop the people thinking about the consequences of "globalisation"!
