Aged 25ish, soldier, from Dorchester. Former gamekeeper obsessed with animals and their noises, and fishing. Qualified in 2000-01 for the Olympics, but did not show good enough form in 2001-2 to be selected: very tough luck.

 

 
Emma Fowler Aged 22ish, soldier, from Dorset. Lives in Aviemore. Ask about the sunburn tidemarks she still has on her legs from skiing trouserless in Geilo at Easter 2001. Got one Olympic qualifying result in the first race of 2001-2, but never managed the 2nd necessary to clinch it.

Soldier from Northumberland, lives in Aviemore. Plagued by injuries the last couple of years. The team's largest member, made huge advances in her skiing in Summer 2001.

 
Gillian Sowden Student, from Scotland but lives in Geilo, Norway. No wonder she is pale and squeaky. Got Britain's best ever Junior World Champs result in 2001. Skis elegantly and usually shoots pretty straight.
