Integrated Management Systems Auditing

Course purpose

The purpose of the course is to describe the requirements of each management system and to provide auditor training. Also to provide proposals for integrating the standards into a single management system

Aim

To provide trainees with a practical understanding of the auditing requirements of ISO 9001: 2000, QS 9000, OHSAS 18001: 1999 and ISO 14001: 1996.

Objectives

On completion of the course the delegate should be able to:-

  • Understand the elements of ISO 9001, QS 9000, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 standards
  • Identify the levels of documentation required.
  • Devise an auditing programme
  • Undertake audits and report on the findings

Pre-course experience

A basic understanding of management procedures and working relating the defined areas of quality, health and safety and environmental issues would be an advantage. Delegates should understand the principles of management within their Company.

Who should attend?

Designated management representatives together with Departmental Managers who have been tasked to implement an integrated management system

Programme

The course content will include:

  • An outline of ISO 9001 and QS 9000 (if applicable)
  • An outline of OHSAS 18001 requirements
  • An outline of ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Auditing principles together with theoretical exercises
  • Preparation needed to undertake a system audit.
  • Undertaking the audit together with a practical audit of the Company procedures.
  • Reporting of findings and follow up to ensure recommendations are completed.
