Risk Assessment Workshop

Course Purpose

To outline the legal background for risk assessment and to instruct on hazard identification

Aim

To provide delegates with a practical and theoretical training to ensure risk assessment as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act are undertaken and reported.

Objectives

To instruct on the hazard identification, suggest typical controls and to assess risks involved so priorities can be allocated.

Delegates should on completion of the course be able to undertake risk assessments to comply with current legislation.

Who should attend?

Personnel with allocated duties regarding Health and Safety at Work.

Programme

An introduction to the course and its objectives will be held followed by definition of key Health and Safety issues. The following topics will then be included:-

  • Health and Safety legislation
  • Risk Assessment objectives and fundamental principles.
  • Emergency planning
  • Preparation of a procedure for risk assessment
  • Introduction to practical risk assessment together with a live hazard survey
  • Reporting of Hazard analysis and risk assessment
