The area surrounding Sanderlings is arguably one of the loveliest parts of Cornwall. The coastal path extends in both directions for miles on end, which is a great way to spend a day or two. The local village of St. Merryn can provide the basics for the Self-catering accomodation, and is great for its summer night activities.
The nearby fishing town of Padstow (approx 3miles) is always bustling. It is the site of many restaurants (including the delicious Rojanos Restaurant, and the world famous Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant), numerous souvenir shops and even a crazy golf course (it has been said to be unparalled!).
