This intensive eight-day course (six days followed by a weekend) is suitable for those who have completed a short introduction to Gestalt and would now like to gain a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of the approach. Although it stands in its own right, the course will also provide the basic requirements for the GSW Advanced Training Programme, or other equivalent training.
There will be a structured balance of theoretical input, skills practice and experiential group process.
It is impossible to learn the Gestalt way of working therapeutically with others without also applying the principles to oneself and 'living' the philosophy inherent in the method. Applicants therefore need to be willing to enter fully into the process of self-discovery, as well as being prepared to reflect upon the basic ideas.
