Completed for the 1999 season, the chalet is furnished and equipped to the highest standard, having been for our personal use only until the 2003 season. It has an official 4-star rating. The dining-room furniture is solid oak, and the beds have massive pine frames with pocket-spring mattresses. The chalet will accommodate six adults in comfort in three bedrooms, or eight or even nine at a pinch, using a sofa-bed and a fold-out bed.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms:

The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and a sauna, while the other two bedrooms share a bathroom with bath & shower. The main bedroom has a large (200x160cm) double bed; bedroom 2 has twin 200x80cm beds which fit together to make a 200x170cm double, and bedroom 3 has two large (200x90cm) bunks, plus (if requested beforehand) a folding bed suitable for a child. There is also a double sofa-bed in the living area. All bedrooms have fitted cupboards and wardrobes.

Living/Dining/Kitchen:

The living accommodation (on the upper floor) is an extremely spacious open-plan area with vaulted ceilings. The sitting area is arranged around a log-burning fireplace, with comfortable sofas and armchairs for nine adults. Two sets of double doors open on to the sunny balcony, which has a table and chairs. The dining area will easily seat eight round a large oak table. (The table has an extra leaf in addition to the size shown in the picture, and in addition to 6 oak chairs, there are three pine chairs in the bedrooms.) The kitchen is fully equipped, with a double oven, a 4-ring ceramic hob, microwave, large fridge-freezer and dishwasher. Satellite TV (UK "free-to-air" channels, ie all BBC, ITV, C4, C5 etc but not Sky Sports etc) and a video player are provided, plus a HiFi (Radio/Tape/CD). Due to lack of demand with the universal adoption of mobile phones, there is no longer a telephone available in the chalet, but there is a payphone 100m away. The "cave" (utility room) has a washing machine/drier and a drying rack.

Outside, there is a short but steep tarmac drive to a car-port and parking area. There is also a shared parking area level with the road. In winter, a contractor clears the bulk of the snow from the road and the drive, but you will have to clear the snow from the vicinity of your car(s) - snow shovels provided! Note for mountain bikers in the summer - there is no garage or secure storage for bikes, other than chaining them around one of the posts supporting the car-port roof, nor is there an outside tap for washing down bikes.

The chalet’s location is a perfect combination of amenity and convenience. The views are glorious, the immediate environment is peaceful, yet the village centre is only10mins walk from the chalet. This allows everyone in the chalet to be independent, and not all tied to going everywhere together in the car.
