Born in September 1954, only son of Iris & Cyril Mockford. Married in 1984 to
Amanda, Divorced 1995 and glad about it too.
My main interests, besides Laura that is, are Computing, Steam Railways, Model Making and
Amateur Radio.
The steam railway has been keeping me very busy over the years, with mountains of track work to be done.
I am also on the operating staff as a Shunter, Trainee Fireman, and Trainee
Diesel driver. I am also part owner in a
Smith and Rodney 5 ton Diesel Crane.
I am an amateur radio operator, with the call sign "G7APM". I have been
licensed since 1984.
I operate on 40 metres (7.00MHz), 6 metres (50.000MHz), 2 metres (144.000Mhz) & 70cm (433.000Mhz) bands.
I enjoy walking, taking a two hours walk with my Mother and some of the neighbours every morning in the local park land.
I no longer run a car, but I have my van that I use for my business, which is there if the need arises, but mostly I use my motorbike.
I have tried in vain, to get my mother to ride pillion, but she won't saying that she is too old.
Divorced in 1995. Now I live with my Mother.
With my interest in electronics and computers, of which I have a house full. Building my own equipment is no problem, and I find far more
satisfying, and cheaper than buying in.
I have a Delivery/Collection Courier business, plus I hold an LGV (HGV) 1 driving
license, which enables me to drive all size trucks, up to
articulated vehicles. This I do on a freelance basis, hiring myself out to companies, to cover sick or holiday leave etc. Also for that
extra job, for which you don't have a driver of your own to spare.
I also work freelance in computer design from home, designing websites, and various design layouts, for a variety of different customers.
