Wiston House
|
Wiston House
was built by Sir Robert Shirley in the 1570's to replace an
earlier mediaeval manor house. The house was much reduced in size by Sir
Charles Goring in the 1740's and was remodelled in the 1840's. It has
been
in the possession of the Goring Family since 1743 but they have not lived
there since 1926.
