THE TROUBLES

Possibly because of its location close to the Border, Castlederg has had more than its share of "The Troubles" over the last 30 years. Over 30 deaths have occurred in the area directly as a result of the Troubles with an unknown number of people physically or emotionally hurt. In addition the town has suffered considerable damage from bombs in spite of being protected by barriers for many years.

The physical damage has been almost completely repaired and many improvements have taken place - but the mental and emotional suffering!?
