Comann Eachdraidh Loch Roag an Ear (East Loch Roag Historical Society) started only in May, 1998, trying to catch a few memories of  "the way things were" before they were  all lost.  We meet periodically to talk informally - or listen - about some particular aspect of "the old days", ending of course with a cup of tea and delicious home baking.

Until the new hall is ready and we have space of our own, our "archives", which include an ever-increasing collection of old photographs, exist only on computer or in boxes under beds.

For now, our big effort in memory-catching and recording of both past and present times is the annual glossy magazine CUIMHNICH ("REMEMBER!"), published in December - the fifth issue by now selling widely not only in both Stornoway and locally from Uig to Barvas, but also in Ottakar's bookshop, in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness.
