Sue and I get lots of pleasure from our garden at ChasAcre and like to think that we cover all aspects. The garden is big enough to include ponds for fish and wild life. The fish pond has quite an elaborate filtration system to maintain a stock of 60 fish and is alongside the patio. The wild life pond is in the corner of garden by a coppice of woodland which we call our spinney, ideal for the toads to hide in plus sanctuary for birds, squirrels and hedgehogs. A large plot is set aside for vegetables and fruit which provides an abundance of fresh produce for the kitchen. With 2 green houses, Sue has plenty of scope for propergating of bedding plants and of growing tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers The garden beds are well stocked with all varieties of popular shrubs, climbers, roses, rockery, perennials and my preference for hostas and grasses. During the summer Sue fills baskets, pots and every space in the beds with annuals.
