Lasts- you can make a last by filling an old shoe or boot with plaster of Paris, I recommend a short ankle boot, then cutting the shoes away from the plaster(carefully) Oh yes smear the inside of the shoe with vaseline or similar first. If you want something longer lasting take your plaster feet to a nearby Aluminum foundry and get them case in metal, this cost me about 25 pounds. For wooden lasts you can use blocks of wood built up as contours and then shaped to the foot, but this is very time consuming and not so accurate( at least not is made by me as I'm not too patient)Another possible is a wood pulp moulding material instead of the plaster.
