I had to mention my cat Nina as she was a great comfort to me through many troubled years. My second wife Amanda and I went to Burton-on-trent to get her from a breeder free of charge because she was a Persian Cross and was unwanted. Nina's uncle was the famous ''Arthur'' from the Spillers Kattomeat ads, so in later years when I developed Normans Cash & Carry own label pet foods, I had her picture printed on the label.

She was neutered at 1yr so never had a litter, but it did keep the toms away. On my travels she came with me to Bideford, Exmouth, Haldon, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth again, Uffculme, Dawlish, Haverfordwest, and finally Elveden.

It was at Elveden that she developed urinary tract problems and then a cancerous growth under her tongue. She could'nt eat properly and eventually the vet had to put her to sleep the day before her 20th birthday.
