Ann was born in Devon and brought up on a farm on the northern edge of Dartmoor, an area which still provides the inspiration for much of her work.

Organic flowing forms, the translucent colours of semi-precious stones, rainbow hues of opals and subtle contrasts of silver and gold, along with river pearls and mother-of-pearl bring richness and variety to Ann’s jewellery.

All her work is made by hand with particular attention to fine detail. No casting is involved, so each piece is unique.

Her aim is to create jewellery which is feminine and exciting, believing it equally important that it is both comfortable and a joy to wear.

Ann’s work has been commissioned by clients in America, Canada, Australia, Japan and Europe, and exhibited throughout Britain and in Canberra, Australia.

In 2001 she was awarded the Brufords Jewellery Prize for her collection of work in the South West Academy of Fine & Applied Arts Open Exhibition.

Ann Powell is a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
