Almost everyone with scleroderma will complain of overwhelming tiredness at some point in the course of their disease - usually in the early stages. Most commonly this fatigue is due to the disease itself but other possible causes such as hypothroidism, anaemia and Sjogren’s Syndrome need to be ruled out. Fatigue is difficult to treat but does improve when the disease begins to stabilise. Time management strategies need to be implemented and you should learn to listen to what your body tells you!
